Centralized Black Belt grading
Haste makes waste.
Have a horse of your own and then you may borrow another's.
He is not wise that is not wise for himself.
He lied like an eyewitness.
He makes his home where the living is best.
Got home a few hours ago from Toa Payoh where the S.T.F’s Centralized Black Belt grading took place, was there with Swee Shoon, Jill, Chi Foong and some of Chi Foong’s friends.
The watching experience is vastly different from being in the grading itself. When one is watching, it is easy to criticize other people’s patterns and sparring actions. On the other side of the fence, your blood pumps a mile a minute, thoughts fly here and there without any sign of stopping and you seem to be able to do anything but your own belt pattern.
If I felt that way during a previous section grading, the centralized grading would be worse eh?
Gradings for the various degrees of black belt are more complicated than the standard colour belt gradings. There are modules to complete and more people to spar. The probability of getting injured is definitely higher.
In the wake of heading to the TPY stadium for the ‘show’, I met Swee Shoon for lunch and a turn at the library. It has been quite a while since I sunk my teeth into Japanese cuisine… and I think after this round, I can afford to wait for another two months or more before I chow down on chawamushi again. I am leaning towards the ‘more’ side but time will be the deciding factor in the equation. Koshin Bon is waiting for my presence. Muah hahaha…
Sadly, my trip to the library did not yield any books which met my liking… so I shall have to go to another branch when I am free to continue my search…
I look forward to seeing the up and coming gradings in Toa Payoh. Jill, Sian Li, Chi Foong and Fulin will have their turns at the Pal-jong pattern. The waiting is the most irritating part, but once that is done, all will be smooth and we will get to see 4 more black belters during training. Heh…
Pau: “hie dearest. hope ur new school term goes really well for ya. And that u will get to enjoy every step of the way. luv ya heaps sweetie”
Thanks Pau~
You too!

Cheers!
